On April 9, the 25th escort formation of the Chinese Navy, Yulin, successfully rescued a Tuvaluan cargo ship hijacked by pirates missile destroyer. During the operation, China captured three suspected pirates.

According to the relevant international law and international practice, after coordination with the federal and local governments of Somalia and other relevant parties, China handed over the pirate suspects to the government of Atlanta, Somalia on May 5, local time, and the whole process was safe and smooth.

The Chinese army will continue to normally dispatch warship formation to participate in escort operations, fulfill international responsibilities and obligations, and play a greater role in maintaining regional peace and stability and ensuring the safety of international important channels.
