Main experience:

Qian Qichen, male, Han nationality, was born in Tianjin in January 1928, Jiangsu Jiading (now Shanghai Jiading). In October 1942, he joined the Communist Party of China and took part in the work, which is quite a university culture.

He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vice Premier of the State Council and member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

1942-1945 joined the Communist Party of China and served as University Secondary School and Party branch secretary when studying in Datong the head of Party group, Shanghai

From 1945 to 1949, he served as a staff member of Shanghai Ta Kung Pao and served as a member of the district committee of Shanghai underground Party Middle School, a member of the male Middle School Committee, and a deputy secretary of the district committee of Xulong district student

From 1949 to 1953, he served as members of Shanghai Xuhui, Changning and Yangpu District Committee, and Secretary of the Communist Youth League Xuhui, Changning and Yangpu District Committee.

From 1953 to 1954, he served as a researcher of the General Office of the Communist Youth League. 1954-1955 study in Soviet Union China Central College for youth leagues

1955-1963 served as the second secretary of the embassy in the Soviet Union, deputy director of the department of international students and director of the Research Office.

From 1963 to 1966, he served as director of the department of foreign students and deputy director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education.

1966-1972 was impacted in the “cultural revolution”, and then the “May 7” cadre school labor was decentralized.

1972-1982 counsellor, ambassador to Guinea, Director of Information Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs

1982-1988 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, member of the party group, deputy secretary of the Party Committee

From 1988 to 1991, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Secretary of the Party committee.

From 1991 to 1992, he served as state councilor, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Secretary of Party Committee.

1993.3 appointed as vice premier of the State Council at the eighth session of the National People’s Congress

1993.7-1995.12 director of Preparatory Committee of Preparatory Committee of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

1995.12-1997.7 chairman of Preparatory Committee of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

1997.9 elected as the member of the Political Bureau of the 15th CPC Central Committee

1998.3-2003.3 vice premier of the State Council

1998.5-1999.12 chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the National People’s Congress

2000.1 Dean, School of International Relations, Peking University

He is an alternate member of the 12th CPC Central Committee, a member of the 13th to 15th CPC Central Committee, and a member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Political Bureau.

In 1997, he attended the handover ceremony of Hong Kong’s return to power as a member of the Chinese government delegation. In November 2005, he was awarded the highest medal of Mongolia-“North Star” medal, in recognition of his long-term contribution to the development of Mongolia-China relations.
