At 9 a.m. on May 7, Xiong’an New District planning camp held an off-camp meeting in the conference room on the second floor of China Institute of Urban Planning and Design. Zhu Ziyu, deputy chief planner of China Institute of Urban Planning and Design, presided over the meeting. The Working Group of the Chinese Academy of Government, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Southeast University, Beijing Institute of Urban Planning and Design, six planning and design teams of Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Research Institute and Shenzhen Urban Planning and Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. participated together. The meeting conveyed the latest instruction requirements of the central leadership on May 6, studied and analyzed the work since the start of the work camp on April 25, and discussed the key areas and directions of the next work. All leaders agreed that the planning and compilation of Xiong’an New District is a historic project. We should adhere to the reform and innovation, inherit the traditional Chinese thinking of Yingcheng, and strive to create a new model of urban planning and construction management in China. Each working group will be ready at all times and will continue to participate in various planning work of the new district.
The planning work of Xiong’an New District is of great responsibility and glorious mission. Since the start of the work camp, each group gave up the “May Day” holiday and fought continuously, achieving fruitful results. The work camp further clarified the planning ideas, reached many consensus, and formed several spatial layout plans. The relevant work results were reported to the leaders of Hebei province and the State Council, it has laid a solid foundation for the modification and improvement of the planning scheme.
The planning work camp will be started again in due time according to the needs of the work. After consulting Hebei province’s consent, the Chinese Academy of Government will continue to organize the new district project implementation work camp and the architectural features work camp, and further invite domestic and foreign experts and scholars, design institutions and enterprises to participate in the new district planning work.
