Up to now, the lack of soil moisture in the whole province covers an area of 16.2076 million mu, and the drought is mainly concentrated in western Liaoning, among which 4.7004 million mu in Jinzhou City, 4.7873 million mu in Fuxin City, 4.28 million mu in Chaoyang city and 2.2819 million mu in Huludao city; at present, 1500 people have difficulty drinking water due to drought.

In response to the drought that has occurred, Liaoning flood control and drought relief headquarters has sent working groups to various places to check the drought and guide the drought relief work. The water delivery project of Dahuofang Reservoir, the largest reservoir in the province, has transferred 0.19 billion cubic meters of water, and 23243 rural drinking water projects have been built to ensure the drinking water safety of 15.87 million rural people. The meteorological department actively carried out artificial precipitation enhancement operations and organized two large-scale artificial precipitation enhancement operations, with a cumulative increase of 0.439 billion cubic meters of precipitation.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, most areas in Liaoning province will still be windy and rainy in the next 10 days, and the drought in western Liaoning is difficult to be lifted temporarily.
