According to the report of the civil affairs department of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, at 05:58 on May 11, an earthquake of 5.5 magnitude occurred in Kashgar region (37.58 degrees NORTH LATITUDE and 75.25 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 8 kilometers. As of 12:00 on the 11th, 8 people were killed, 23 were injured (5 were seriously injured), and 1520 houses collapsed or were seriously damaged.
