PetroChina: 80% of infected gas stations have recovered their network connections

The official website of PetroChina reported on May 14 that around 22:30 on May 12, due to the outbreak of the global bitcoin ransomware virus, the normal operation of some gas stations belonging to the company was affected. The virus causes network payment functions such as gas station fuel card, bank cards, and third-party payment to be unavailable, and basic services such as refueling and sales are operating normally. At 1:00 on May 13, in order to ensure the safety of user data and prevent the spread of viruses, the company urgently interrupted the network ports connected to all gas stations and carried out disposal work overnight with relevant network security experts, comprehensively troubleshoot risks and develop technical solutions.

At 13:00 on May 13, according to the technical solutions verified on site, the restoration work began to be carried out station by station. As of 12:00 on May 14, more than 80% of the gas stations in the company have recovered their network connections, and the infected gas stations are gradually recovering fuel card, bank cards and third-party payment functions.
